The Kaye Legaspi Open Chess Champioship
Dec. 26-30, 2012

We are inviting you to participate in the THE KAYE LEGASPI OPEN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP to be held at WATERFRONT RESORT Subic, Zambales on DEC 26-30, 2012 8:00am.

I. PARTICIPATION & ENTRY FEE:
The tournament is open to all chess players from all over the Country. The Registration will commence on December 10, 2012 and will end on December 26, 2012 9:00am.

Registration fee:
Junior & Kiddies: 180 Php
Adult: 360 Php
GM & IM: FREE
An additional of Php 100.00 will be add-up for late entries.

Note: Bring validated student ID for verification.

II. TOURNAMENT VENUE
THE KAYE LEGASPI OPEN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP tournament venue will be held at WATERFRONT RESORT, Subic, Zambales.

III. TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
THE KAYE LEGASPI OPEN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP will be played in 9 rounds according to the Swiss System. The time control is 1 hour and 30 minutes each player for the whole game with an incremental time of 5 seconds per move or 1 hour and 30 minutes for each player play to finish. Match Point System will be applied.

Tie-Break: The following tie-break systems, in descending order, shall be applied to determine the final ranking after the elimination round:
1. More number of game points; (Match Point, Win: 3 pts., Draw: 1 pt. Lose: 0 pt.)
2. Direct encounter (result of the match/es between/among the teams involved);
3. Buchholz System.
The FIDE Laws of Chess, unless otherwise stated in these rules, shall govern the tournament.

IV. ARBITRATION & COMMITTEE OF APPEAL:
The chief arbiter and the organizing committee will nominate the arbitration team and the Appeal Committee will be selected as per the provisions of NCFP Rules and Regulations.

V. DAILY PROGRAMME:
The Chief Arbiter will announce the program at the beginning of the tournament based on the tournament set date schedule.(There are surprises daily)

VI. AWARDS AND PRIZES:
A total of 70,000 Pesos will be divided to all winner and a guaranteed Php 18,018 + Trophy for the Champion.

VII. TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS

Deputy Chief Arbiter: Ms. Christine Joy Pineda
The Chief Arbiter’s decision on a point of law shall be FINAL. Any protest on the Chief Arbiter’s decision on a point of fact shall be submitted in writing to the Appeal’s Committee not less than ONE HOUR after the conclusion of the game in question, together with a CASH BOND of P1,000.00 (Non refundable). Protest on Pairing will not be entertained.
The decision of the Appeals Committee on a point of fact shall be FINAL.
The Appeals Committee shall be formed by the Chief Arbiter during the Meeting.

VIII. How to go to Subic, Zambales
The most popular and regular bus line servicing Olongapo-Zambales is Victory Liner Buses run from the Caloocan, Cubao and Pasay terminals in Manila terminating in the center of Olongapo City. There are also hourly Victory buses to and from Baguio, Bataan, San Fernando Pampanga and Tarlac. We have also hourly buses from Cavite City to Olongapo via Saulog Transit and Genesis Bus Lines, your land mark will be the boundary Bridge of Olongapo City and Subic, Zambales. Right after the bridge from your left you will see our tournament venue. There are also Public Jepneeys (Blue Color) passing through to our venue from Olongapo City to Subic, Zambales.
