3rd Floor (Food Court), Alphaland Southgate Mall, EDSA corner Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City


(Alphaland Mall is easily accessible via public transportation.
The fully-airconditioned venue is located just beside the MRT Magallanes Station)


DECEMBER 30, 2013 (Monday, a National Holiday commemorating the martyrdom of our National Hero, Gat JOSE RIZAL at formerly Bagumbayan, now Luneta or Rizal Park.)
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Tournament Rules and Regulations:
a) 2100 & Below Division - This is open to all non-titled, unrated or rated 2100 & Below (October 1, 2013 NCFP Ratings) chess players, regardless of age, gender and nationality. Women titled chess players and kiddie players (regardless of ratings) can also join this division.

b) Kiddies Division - This is open to kiddie players who are unrated or with October 1, 2013 NCFP Ratings of 2050 and Below. Boys who were born in the year 2000 onwards and girls who were born in the year 1999 onwards are allowed to play in this division. NSO-certified birth certificates are required for verification of age.

• Rate of play: 20 minutes with three seconds increment (Bronstein Time Delay) per player using the digital clocks and 25 minutes per player using the analog or mechanical clocks.

• Mode of play: Swiss system, minimum of seven rounds. Additional rounds if needed depending on the number of participants.(Please refer to the ground rules)

• The FIDE Laws of Chess, particularly the Laws on Rapid Chess, shall govern the tournament. (Ground rules will be posted on-site)

a) KIDDIES DIVISION (2050 & Below NCFP Rating as of Oct.1, 2013):
Champion = P2,500.00 + trophy
2nd place = P1,500.00 + medal
3rd place = P1,000.00 + medal
4th place = P700.00 + medal
5th place = P500.00 + medal
6th to 10th place = chess pieces + medal each

CATEGORY PRIZES:
Top lady (kiddies) = chess pieces + medal
Top 10 y.o. & below = chess pieces + medal
Top Elementary Team (at least 3 elem. players from same school) = trophy + medal each to 3 team members


b) 2100 & BELOW DIVISION (NCFP Rating as of October 1, 2013):
Champion = P6,000.00 + trophy
2nd place = P3,500.00 + medal
3rd place = P2,500.00 + medal
4th place = P1,500.00
5th place = P1,000.00
6th to 10th place = P500.00 each

CATEGORY PRIZES:
Top 1950 & Below Rating = P1,000.00
Top lady (2100 & Below) = P600.00
Top 16 y.o.& below = P600.00
Top High School Team (at least 3 high school players from same school) = trophy + medal each to 3 team members


• Participants must bring any document/I.D. showing proof of age (e.g. birth certificate or government-issued I.D.)

• On-site registration starts at 8:30 a.m.

• Maximum of 230 participants on a first-come, first- served basis only.

:idea: Kids, Ladies & Senior citizen players : P300.00 inclusive of food stub worth P100.00
:idea: 2100 and below players : P350.00 inclusive of food stub worth P100.00

Note: All food stubs are CONSUMABLE within the Alphaland Food Court (3rd Floor) on tournament date only.

The 1st Round for both divisions shall be played and concluded before lunch break.
