Tournament Rules and Regulations
Mode of play and rate:
• The tournament is open to all chess players in good standing with National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).
• The tournament is divided into three (3) sections:
a. Open – open to all players GM, IM etc.
b. Amateur – 1950 and below latest NCFP rating
c. Kiddies – under -14 yrs old
• (7) Seven-round Swiss system with (20) minutes each player
• Tie break: Direct Encounter, Buchholz, Sonnenborne Berger, Sum of
Progressive Score, More number of games won
• The Laws of Chess as approved by FIDE shall govern.
• Rankings of players will be based on the latest NCFP ratings
• Use of mobile phones inside the tournament area is strictly prohibited.
• Sanctioned by the NATIONAL CHESS FEDERATION OF THE PHILIPPINES (NCFP)

Deadline of registration will be on December 14, 2012, additional P50 for late entry.
The tournament will be limited to 128 participants per section on a first come first served basis only.
Registration fee:
a. Open - P 300.00 b. Non-Master - P250.00 c. Kiddies -P 200
Prizes and Awards:
A. Open section:
Champion – P 10,000.00 + trophy
2nd place – 5,000.00 + medal
3rd place – 3,000.00 + medal
4th place - 2,000.00
5th place - 1,000.00
6th – 10th - 500.00 each
Top Lady - 500.00 + medal
Top Senior (50+) 500.00 + medal
Top High School 500.00 + medal
Top College 500.00 + medal
B. Amateur section : 1950 and below NCFP rating
Champion – P 4,000.00 + trophy
2nd place – 2,000.00 + medal
3rd place – 1,000.00 + medal
4th place - 700.00
5th place - 500.00
6th – 10th - 300.00 each
C. Kiddies Under-14:
Champion – P 2,000.00 + trophy
2nd place – 1,000.00 + medal
3rd place – 700.00 + medal
4th place - 500.00
5th place - 400.00
6th – 10th - 200.00 each
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Each pre-registered participants will be given a free smart prepaid sim card. Late registrants are not included in the free sim.
- one cellphone will be raffle every round only those early paid participants are included in the raffle (a total of 7 cellphones will be raffled). Late registrant are not included in the raffle.
- plus more surprise prizes will be given away for all participants.
